Become A Volunteer For Meals On Wheels
NEW Volunteer Alert – January 2014
Volunteers are needed NOW for the Wendell Area. The pick-up location is at the East Wake Senior Center (located near the library in Wendell.) Call Marlene at 919-833-1749 for details.
Volunteers represent the face of our services at Meals on Wheels of Wake County. Those we serve deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and our over 2,200 volunteers embody that belief daily in service to our senior and disabled neighbors.
Many recipients tell us the best part about meal delivery is the friendly, caring visitors each weekday. Volunteers can be the only contact that recipients have during the day, and provide an important safety check to help ensure our neighbors’ well-being. They are the eyes and ears of Meals on Wheels and can help us extend our outreach beyond mealtime needs.
Volunteers can choose a day or days to deliver meals between Monday and Friday throughout Wake County. Delivery time is typically between 11AM and 12PM. For information on volunteering contact:
Viki Baker at 919-833-1749 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Marlene Silva at 919-833-1749 or email@example.com
Please indicate the area of Wake County where you can deliver in your message. Thanks!
“I want to personally thank you for everything you have done with delivering meals to my Aunt. Your organization is a life saver for people like me that do not live in the same town as their relative and are trying to help them stay healthy and safe.” –Alice, relative of recipient
